SGA Personal Championship

The SGA Personal Championship (PK SGA) is also part of the Amsterdam Chess Open this year. This means that after the tournament, prizes will also be awarded to the best performing SGA members.

Below you will find the PKA regulations.

Regulations Personal Championship SGA incorporated in the Amsterdam Chess Open


1. Eligibility to play
Players who are members of an SGA association before the start of the tournament (as stated in the KNSB OLA) are entitled to participate in the PK SGA.


2. SGA Champion
The highest ranked SGA player in group A is Champion of the SGA and receives the Wil Haggenburg Challenge Cup and has the right to participate in the placement tournament for 2 places in the 2026 General National Championship.


3. The order of the highest ranked SGA members in each group is determined by:
a. score
b. mutual result (if applicable)
c. Buchholz points
d. Sonneborn-Berger score
e. TPR


4. Cash prizes
There is a cash prize for the highest finishing SGA member(s) in each group:
Group A: €250,-; group B1 and B2: €75,-; group C1 and C2: €50,-; group D1 and D2: €50,-
In case of a tie, the cash prize will be shared.
