Registration fee

  • The registration fee for the Amsterdam Chess Open 2025 is €50,-.

  • The registration fees for titled players are as follows:

    • (W)GM, (W)IM free

    • (W)FM receive a 50% discount until September 1, after which regular costs apply

Please take note that your registration is not final until you have paid the registration fee.

Deregistering

Until two weeks before the start of the tournament (October 10) it is possible to deregister and get your registration fee refunded. We do however charge a €5,- administration fee for deregistration from October 1st and on.

 

Rating groups

A-group: accessible to players with a rating of at least 2050,
B-group: accessible to players with a rating between 1850 and 2100,
C-group: accessible to players with a rating between 1650 and 1900,
D-group: accessible to players with a rating of up to 1700.

Prize money

The prize money for the third edition of the Amsterdam Chess Open will be distributed as shown in the table below. Because of the amount of participants, we have decided to split all but group A into two groups. The prize distribution will be as follows:

  • First round: 10:00

  • Second round: 15:00

  • Award Ceremony: As soon as possible after the last round

Format

The match format will be according to the accelerated Swiss system. The games will be played with 90 minutes of thinking time and 30 seconds increment for the entire game.

 

BYE's

It is possible to request two BYEs for the first four rounds. For a BYE you get 0.5 points.

The third edition of the Amsterdam Chess Open will be held in the Corry Tendeloohuis, the Business Campus of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The Corry Tendeloohuis is easily accessible by both train and metro to Bijlmer ArenA.

There is no possibility of free parking near the venue. The nearest parking garage is ParkBee Bijlmerdreef. Please note that paid parking is very expensive, we recommend coming to the venue by public transport.
